Architectural Digest Show
This weekend, my roommate and I attended the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. I was dying to go and actually see all the stuff I normally "purchase" for all my projects in person as well as new ideas for projects to come. I also wanted to show my roommate a little bit of what my field does. Really, I think it just left her (and myself) envious of what we don't have in our apartment and now I have a nagging roommate asking me how to make our place nicer. Oh vey! But who could blame her, check it out....
Now the roommate and I are both after tufted headboards. |

...and a dining room |
We both have a love for animal fur. Faux is perfectly fine. |
We both agreed we need more artwork in the house |
Roomie loved this one....pretty sure this could be just in HER bedroom. |
We topped off the day with some frozen yogurt from Bloomingdale's famous Forty Carrots. Pretty sure it's actually ice cream- it tastes way too good to be good for you. |

Art I'm Lovin'
At the Armory Antiques show, I collected a few business cards of the galleries that really impressed me. I saw hundreds of paintings that I wanted to incorporate in future make-believe interior design projects for school, as well as stuff I'd love to own in my own make-believe two-story Brooklyn brownstone with my make-believe bulldog, Macho.
Here a few pieces I'm talking about from Gary Rubinstein Antiques and Rumi Galleries...

Spring Break!
The time is upon us! Spring Break is here! Get out your shot glasses and your sunblock!
Ok, ok...so I'm not really going anywhere this spring break except for the library. But in my wildest fantasies, I'd be at the Barcelona Mandarin Hotel right now, relaxing in all of Patricia Urquiola's design glory.

Gold inlay ceilings reflecting the shape of the cowhide rug beneath it. Unreal! |

AVENUE Antiques & Art at the Armory Show
This weekend I took a trip to the Park Avenue Armory where dealers displayed everything from paintings and fine jewelery to decorative arts and furniture. Sadly, I missed the panel discussion held by the infamous Mario Buatta and a former professor of mine, Judith Gura.
What was possibly even more fun than the antique show was the building itself. Seeing this building in slide form during a two hour history lecture hall is nothing like seeing it in real life.
Even so, check out all the fun I had...
